We knew that the abuse of the so called PATRIOT act would happen sooner or later. Funny how the MPAA is one of the first, even as the promote movies that rail against such things (http://www.michaelmoore.com/words/index.php?id=103).

I know Moore has, but the MPAA, who gave the movie a stamp of approval, certainly does not think that way. My comment was about the MPAA, not Moore.

As it turns out, that article here has an update now, it seems that the person in the article was scamming people and offering illegal downloads. The article didn't mention that until the update that must have happened last night sometime. But it is still a questionable use of the patriot act, there are other laws they could have acted under.

Yeah it does, but it was still an inappropriate use of the Patriot act. In the past they could have done the same thing with a court order, but now thanks to the Patriot act, there is no need for that anymore. They can collect information on anybody and the parties they get it from are not allowed to talk about it period.
