Plot Generator!
Aug. 15th, 2005 12:21 pmIn my last entry, I mentioned the TV Tropes Wiki and noted that I hadn't yet had the time to peruse it.
I stayed up far too late last night remedying that error. The site is splendidly comprehensive.
It also offers The Story Generator, which randomly mixes and matches Classic Elements at random "to spark ideas".
This is a great Game Host Tool. "Oh no! Everyone's coming over to play Noun: The Verbing and I don't have an adventure planned! Gah, gotta think of something..."
"Hmmm, that's not quite right."
"Okay, we might be able to do something with that."
Odds are pretty good that you'll get a more interesting game session out of it than if you crack open the latest "re-imagined" First-Edition Adventure Module....

Date: 2005-08-16 01:37 am (UTC)Say you have some sort of petty Tatooine slum-lord who's basically cornering the market on water through leasing vaporators. There are two ways you could bring him down - both million to one shots. You could convince the Imperial governor to do it - or you could get the sandpeople real riled up and lead them directly into the slumlord's way. Neither one is particularly likely to happen, but with an action girl and a tech genius, surely you can figure something out.
