This is a test of the Emergency Velociraptor System.

This is only a test.
If this had been an actual velociraptor, you would have been disemboweled before the sixty seconds of ear-splitting screeching had elapsed.

18 April is
Velociraptor Awareness Day.

I am aware of you

I don't eat sapient beings. Most of them would consider it impolite.

No, really. Trust me.

I don't eat sapient beings! Besides, you can FLY.

(sigh)

Flying isn't fair.

I appreciate that. I'd also like to point out that, given what we sapient beings eat, eating us might not be the wisest diet choice. Do you really want to consume a creature that includes pork rinds, Moon Pies, and fried beer as part of our diet?

One might postulate that creatures who would eat fried beer can't be sapient. But you're right, there could be other reasons not to eat them. :)

Having tried fried beer, I am prone to agree with you. Vile, vile stuff.

Fried lemonade, on the other hand....

Eh, one of my best friends was a velociraptor, feathers and all. I'm sure he'd agree with your feeling on it, hafoc. ^.^

We're rather like feathery wolves-- or puppy dogs-- when you think of it. Same lifestyle, same pack dynamic. As social creatures, we have a sense of morality like dogs, wolves, or humans-- the good humans at least.

No need to eat someone who can think when there's lots that can't, or you could strip-mine some of that orange stuff you people eat.. cheez I think it's called.. supposed to have some protein in it somewhere, I think.

My mammal friends won't tell me where cheese comes from. I think there's a joke in there somewhere. I'm not sure I want to know.

Well, my own 'raptor friend is a blade-dancer; he attaches diamond cutters to his main talons and cut artwork into sheet steel. Besides that, he's a really mild-mannered, rather snarky sort of guy.

As for cheese, it's basically milk from various grass-eating mammals, curdled (that is, rotted) in carefully controlled fashion. It sounds poisonous and distasteful but it's quite the opposite! It's one of those weird mammalian foods that tastes far better then it sounds. Another is blood sausages -- that's a mammalian specialty that should be far more to your taste. :>

Kind of funny, but the latest Yet Another Fantasy Gamer Comic plotline just introduced a tribe of velociraptors -- as in, the little feathered dromaeosaurs, not the Jurassic Park version. ^.^

Being aware of your Velociraptor is not only educational and fun, but could possibly add years to your life......... or at least know what is about to eat you. :)
