Who would you appoint as Earth's ambassador to alien races, and why?

Since Carl Sagan is no longer with us, I'll have to nominate Michio Kaku.

Unca Carl's still my first choice, though.

Well, it depends on the alien race. Personally, I'd like to send our former governor, John Engler, as ambassador to the Kzinti. Hamstrung and covered in steak sauce.

"Brains + Charisma" (or, more aptly, communication skills) were my biggest criteria for the role. Alas, as engaging as I find Michio, he's not quite on the same plain as Unca Carl.
