- Furries with tattoos -- in their fur.
- Furries who blush -- through their fur.
- Furries with six-pack abs so ripped, you can see them through their fur. (Thanx,

More entries later, as I think of them.

Date: 2004-05-18 12:29 pm (UTC)Otherwise i see it like this...a fur can do or look like what they want. If you start sayin "Oh they cant blush through fur" Id say prove it. Furs arent real so make em do what you want :)

Date: 2004-05-18 01:25 pm (UTC)...not to mention that the latter would require said fur to be almost ridiculously long, for most common Furry species.

#3 doesn't require a lot of fur to hide definition. It'd have to be a pretty short fur length (like say a horse's hide) to see things. See, I've managed a bit of definition in the chest area as a side-effect of the swimming, but its nearly all obscured.... 'nuff said.

Date: 2004-05-18 02:36 pm (UTC)This is why my character's eartips blush a lot, it is some of the only exposed skin on her.

Date: 2004-05-18 06:22 pm (UTC)When I describe a furred character with a tattoo, the tattoo'd area is furless. This tends to happen in real life, as I understand it; tattoos kill the hair. That's what gave me the idea. Of course, if it were a long-furred character, that would look really strange.
Blushing? On the inside of the ears. :)
As for muscles, no, I don't think so, except on a short-furred critter. Horses, for example; you can see their muscles pretty well, if they're in their summer coats. But yes, a bodybuilder might sculpt his own fur to emphasize his build. Or to exaggerate it. Which is a scary thought. Imagine a musclebound bodybuilder who sculpts his three-inch fur to look even MORE musclebound. Urgh.

Date: 2004-05-18 08:43 pm (UTC)As for blushing, my characters do blush - but in my defense it's inside the ears, which tend to fold back along with other body language while embarassed.

Date: 2004-05-19 12:40 am (UTC)On the other hand, I don't really expect everyone to be great Role Players. I mean, the point is to just enjoy yourself, yes? Sometimes I imagine it's just easier to use human expressions as a sort of short hand. I know I do know and again, even when I know better.

Date: 2004-05-19 08:06 am (UTC)Even my gryphs can blush. They just do it through the cere (patch of skin on the beak where the nostrils/nares emerge).
And forget six pack abs. Give me strong flight muscles any day. :>

Date: 2004-05-20 09:53 am (UTC)I'd get me a really bitchin' Harley Davidson tattoo or like, a flaming skull. If I could get over my fear of needles, that is.
And I will add this - in my rarely used all equine morph I have posed 'blushes under his horse coat' on occasion. So it's not something the other characters see as such, but a narrative device...
