I was in a black mood yesterday, and posted some deliberately inflammatory things in this journal.

Some of what I posted was frankly contrafactual, and does not hold up even to a cursory examination of the evidence.

Gods Playing Poker does not, in fact, "depict Mohammad in every single strip."

The character in question is, in fact, intended to represent Allah, and He does not actually appear in every strip.

This was an ignorant, insulting mistake that promulgated misinformation about a group that receives a great deal of abuse, and I apologize.

Wow, I don't know whether I can keep you on my flist after a transgression of this magnitude.

Though that Jesus guy in Gods Playing Poker talks about forgiveness a lot. (Not that I read Gods Playing Poker, actually. I just see the same character in lots of other things. He's some sort of public domain webcomic character, like what's-her-name, Jenny Everywhere, I guess. There must be a rule that their names have to start with J.)
