I took a deep breath, hopped on my bike, rode to the library and spend a couple of hours reading Popular Mechanics and Scientific American. A most excellent combination to induce Mellow.
Thanks to everyone who chimed in with both sympathy and advice -- especially
cargoweasel, who basically advocated the "kick ass and take names" school of job hunting which I've paid lip-service to and have yet to actually implement. I've had ideas on how to retool the resume and hype myself more in it -- I may turn that into a full-fledged reformatting.
