Final Destination 2...

...is like a 2-hour live-action episode of Happy Tree Friends.

Oh, I enjoyed it. It was more than just gore -- there was a lot of suspense, and it was well-handled. But the styles of the individual deaths... well, anyone familiar with both FD and HTF should see it immediately. Much more so than the first movie.

And now, I keep seeing the death scenes from FD2 with those little touches of cartoon oog from the Happy Tree Friends shorts. Oozing eyeballs, that sort of thing. Hee.

Horrific Addendum:
Now that I've made the connnection, I don't think I'll ever watch a horror movie with over-the-top gore deaths without giggling and humming the Happy Tree Friends theme song.

I personally thought that there were better done slasher fics without half the gore. And most were original, too. That whole "turning hapless person X into giblets via very freaking fast moving wire" thing has been way overdone.

I'll take Hellraiser anyday, thank you.
