Gung Hay Fat Tuesday!

… President Valentine … ?

For Lent this year, I think I have to give up procrastinating.

I will, of course, start tomorrow.

I think you should give up breaks between eating. That will get you up to a proper dragony size! :3

I'm giving up ironic fabrication for Lent.

"Ironic", yes, but not fabrication.

I discovered YEARS ago that I have a tendency to dither around in that lag time between Getting Up and Going To Work, and it doesn't matter at ALL if I was going to work at 8AM or 8PM; there's this constant distracting voice that insists that I can't really sit down and START anything because I've Got To Go To Work Later.

I plan to spend Lent getting up, starting the day, and DOING PRODUCTIVE STUFF before I head off to the comic store for my evening shift.

That was meta humor, not a jab at you. :)

I do believe this is why, I've noticed, that in jobs where seniority dictates which shifts you can bid for, the folks with the most seniority tend to bid not just the easier shifts but also the earlier shifts.

It leaves you with the rest of the day to do something with, whereas with the late shifts there's always that nagging feeling you've mentioned. It gets in the way, even, of "non-productive" fun stuff.

I am so totally a morning person that, when I was in the Coast Guard, and was responsible for making the watch roster for my duty section, I would frequently give myself the 0400-0800 watch.

Whereas me... not a morning person. I don't do mornings at all unless I'm doing something really, really fun... or getting paid to. }:D

Mornings make me fall asleep while doing stuff.

For Lent I think I shall give up Lent. It's worked well for me in the past.
