AMC has made all 17 episodes of Patrick McGoohan's classic series, The Prisoner, available online.

This series is required viewing for anyone who's ever ...

Well, for anyone.

Anywhere.

Especially in this day and age.

I am not a number!
I am a free man!

What about for those of us who have already seen them and can quote the show at some length? Can I get away with a refresher course and just thumb through my copy of GURPS The Prisoner a couple times? :D

Also, um... do I even want to know how the recent remake was? Hit me with the truth, but hit me gently... :/

The recent remake was... well... recently remade.

Ian McKellan put in a stellar performance as #2, but the story itself was kind of lacking.

Besides, what if some of us actually like being a number! _Σ:D

Are you really certain that it has inter-zeitgeist appeal?

I think it's even more relevant now than it was 43 years ago.

Hell, I think it's moved from "surrealist allegory" to "plausible realism" in that time.

I hadn't realized I needed to lose that last hour in blissful braindancing... thank you!

I've watched the series several times... I adore it!

Rover crush? Why, I have no idea what you could mean!

Athelind, thank you for sharing this. I've been wanting to watch this for ages.

I re- watching, I find every time little nuances, clues to the nature of the Village! Who runs it, how involved Number Six's superiors were, even to the nature of Number Six himself.

Recently had chills just at his line in "Chimes of Big Ben", that tells much and yet nothing direct: "I came back because, I thought things were different - they are different, aren't they!?"

Did you read DC's graphic novel they did or, did I already ask you that? :p

I did indeed, when it came out.

I actually didn't get a chance to see the WHOLE series until a couple of years later.

I enjoyed it. I liked a lot of the banter:

"The Village is an open book."

"An empty book, you mean."

Interesting.

I can't view the show on the AMC site, but I can view it when you embed it.

That IS interesting. I'd embed the other 16, but I don't know if I should spam my journal like that.
