Fans of the original series will not be disappointed: it was completely faithful to the original.
The acting was wooden, the scripting was heavy-handed, the motivations were weak, the characters were unlikable, and the glaring Plot Stupidity of the original was wholly intact.
We didn't get past the first half-hour.
Pity. I had high hopes, considering the cast was packed with veterans of some of the best SF shows of the last decade.
Now I'm kind of nostalgic for the first couple of seasons of Earth: Final Conflict.

Date: 2009-11-07 10:43 pm (UTC)I was hoping this one would be good, but I pretty much agree with what you said. I also find it terribly disappointing the giant alien space-ships showing up over earth was sort've dealt with as "Oh my god! Oh, they're pretty! Oh, they're friendly!"... it all happened so fast that it left me very unsatisfied.
Like honestly... the anticipation that you could have between an alien ship showing up and the unveiling aliens themselves, that could be the best thing ever. But in "V" it was squished down to absolutely nothing.
So many opportunities lost.

I guess I'm just more easily entertained.
