Sunday night was a group effort 'twixt myself and my lady love, [livejournal.com profile] quelonzia. She pan-fried the chicken livers, whilst I steamed the baby bok choi.

I don't count the various bowls of cereal, sandwiches and salads made since Sunday dinner as "cooking"; since I work on Monday/Tuesday/Thursday nights, I don't cook those evenings.

Adrienne's gone - did I mention she went to HAWAII without me?! - and I have stopped cooking ENTIRELY. It's like I'm a bachelor again, or something, hehe.

Well the last thing I cooked for myself was supper yesterday evening. It consisted of fried egg sandwiches served on toasted bread, plus mixed steamed greens and a cup of soup.

Tonight I'm whipping up a batch of fish soup, likely with veggies and rice. :3 That or something else with eggs in it.

Last thing wuff cooked was supper last night. A simple 'comfort food' single-dish of a sort of "bachelor Cajon" red beans and rice.

Just put a single hot link, sliced into medallions, into a pot with a bit of teriyaki and Worcester sauce and some garlic. Heated over high heat. Added a ring of kielbasi sliced into 1 inch sections. Continued heating on high until nicely heated.

Poured in water and the 'juice' of the red beans. Added "California cajon" seasoning and more garlic. Added the rice when it came to a boil, the red beans, stirred together, and let it steam until the rice was ready.

Spoon it out and dust with a bit more cajon seasoning if more heat is wanted.

I do my beans and rice with dried beans in the crock pot. Lately, I've been doing black eyed peas, and for flavor, I use simple black pepper and a package of SOYRIZO -- a soy-based version of Mexican chorizo that's seriously delicious.

It takes all day, but in a "fire and forget" kind of way.
