A conversation about California's goofy ferret laws with [livejournal.com profile] araquan prompted my observation that, if pets should be licensed, then so should children. Later that day, he sent me this.

I approve.

Just so folks know, I want to make it clear that I was in favor of regulating those annoying little piles of teeth and stinky. };>

Hey, I like kids. As long as I don't have to change diapers...

Oh, I love children.

With fava beans and a nice Chianti.

My authoritarian wish on breeding is for science to come up with a completely reversible anti-fertility system. It would be implemented as soon as one can breed and to properly breed you'd have to pass an intelligence/parenting test.

Things like abortion would become a complete non-issue, because you'd have to file and prove you can be a good parent before you can do so.

Kinda freaky scary to be honest, but I could see it happening on like, a space colony where the population has to be controlled.

Anyways enough Philip K Dick randomness from me for today.

The US's population would be more or less constant if we could control our borders.

Somehow, I don't think we'd see this commercial on American television. Which is a pity; I do tend to agree.

Of course, I live in a state where the Department of Children and Families, through Risk Management, hired a law firm which contended that a mentally deficient (IQ approx 60) person at the age of 14 was consenting to sex with a worker in the home they had placed her in.

Oddly enough, common sense has now set in; the Governor directed the law firm be fired, and has given "new directions" to DCF.

That, though, is another story...

There should be a Nobel Prize for television commercials.

I' m very tempted to send that to someone at the office who resembles a dark-haired version of the guy in the commercial...and who recently "inadvertently spawned."
