I'm still processing it. I'm seeing it again tomorrow, with [livejournal.com profile] quelonzia; expect a full review some time this weekend.

So the question which I'm sure is on everybody's mind right now is;

Given that you have one very superpowered character and a batch of unpowered but very skilled and tough characters with a batch of perks, just how many points did everyone get to make their Watchman in that campaign?

Oh, they all had the same points. Osterman's player was just a minimaxing munchkin.

How can I tell? Well, you see, I once played in a standard 500-point GURPS Supers game -- and the power discrepancy wasn't that far removed from Watchmen.

I was the guy playing Doctor Manhattan ("The Beacon!"), because I'm a minimaxing munchkin even when I'm not trying. I did pull a couple of dubious tricks, but I thought, at best, that would give me an edge. I didn't realize the rest of the group would be so profligately inefficient with their builds.

The GM had to do the same thing Chris Claremont wound up doing with Phoenix back in the late '70s: find excuses to separate me from the group so I could confront things of my own power level while they all handled street-level stuff.

Your (and Quel's) review of this is honestly the only one I've been waiting to hear.
