Judge rules in favor of Fox's frivolous Watchmen lawsuit.

The movie won't hit the March release date, if we even see it this year.

[livejournal.com profile] jdarkwulf notes that Fux waited until the movie was far enough along to start showing "flashy, FX-laden trailers" before they filed suit -- which isn't quite true, since they filed in February, but I do agree that the waited long enough to demonstrate "bad faith" to the court.

I say we march on the Fox studios, and leave them a smoking ruin.

Or find an inside man who can hack their computer systems and leave them in a smoking ruin.

So long as a smoking ruin is involved, I'm happy.

Well shit, I was looking forward to seeing that one. I'd definitely say Fox is being a bunch of assholes right there. If they really had a problem with it, they should have raised a stink before the movie was FINISHED.

So does this mean we have to stop watching Sarah Connor Chronicles?

No, it means we have to start PIRATING it.

What needs to happen is everyone should just boycott anything from Fox. Don't watch their channel, don't buy their DVDs, don't see any of their new movies. Let each and every one flop in the theaters.

See Leonard's comment, above. AUGH.

Only problem there would be Murdoch would see dollar signs in the form of MPAA lawsuits. Personally I'd love to see 'ol Rupert powerless and penniless and watch him squirm.

And now we're back to "smoking ruin".

Oh, no worries on that. They're flopping as we speak. :)

While I think this is terrible for people who want to see the movie (I, myself, am a little worried - while I liked the trailers, certainly, I really, really hated 300 . . . but, then, again, I didn't like the comic, either, hehe, so I'm guarded about the movie, anyway), really, it's two huge corporations out to screw each other. I mean, maybe it's because I'm a commie-esque bastard, and while I do feel for the people who really want to see this movie, and I hope it's fantastic and everyone loves it, at the same time I find myself thinking that to get hot and bothered about this is kind of like arresting a Nazi death camp guard for a speeding violation. Sure, it's a lousy thing, but both of these companies do so many lousy things so often to so many people I don't see the point of singling out this one event.

Why, because of the only possible valid criterion.

It inconveniences ME.
