THe Hoard Potato: IMDb's Top 25
Jul. 15th, 2008 08:17 pmThis is IMDb's top 25 all-time box office hits. Bold the ones you saw in theater, italicize the ones you saw some other way instead, and leave the unseen ones alone. Put asterisks beside ones you weren't impressed with.
So... I've seen15 20 in the theaters (and of course I saw Star Wars more than once), 18 23 total, and I've been unimpressed by 7 of'em.

- I'm married.
- To be fair, when we got all six movies in the Star Wars saga and watched them in a row, 1-6, I really enjoyed them as a whole.
Edited for bad maths.

What can I say? I'm a movie junkie. I also tend to go into movies with low expectations already. I can enjoy movies most people say are awful. My catchphrase when going to movies is "At least it wasn't as bad as Shark Boy and Lava Girl".

Forrest Gump
or Jurassic Park
in the theaters.
Many of the others were good, some were movies I only saw because I was trying to appease my wife's enjoyment of them or her curiosity.
I saw the original Star Wars movie (1977) in the theaters a total of 87 times. (Yes, I was young and impressionable, an my dad was nuts.) But while I liked Empire Strikes Back, I just found I couldn't enjoy the other movies.
The best part of Return of the Jedi, to me, was when Darth's mask was removed and my 3 year old brother said in that loud childly voice of his "He's a Conehead!" }:=*D Sometimes you gotta love the things little ones notice.
