Open the pod bay doors, Alvin.
Jun. 19th, 2008 09:06 amAfter revisiting the comments on
kinkyturtle's entry about Inappropriate Songs for Alvin & The Chipmunks, I realized that, aside from any musical numbers, I want to hear Alvin delivering HAL's dialogue from 2001:
"Look, Dave, I can see you're really upset about this. I honestly think you ought to sit down calmly, take a stress pill, and think things over.
You could work that into just about any A&TC script ever. You know you could. You can just hear it, can't you?

I can also imagine Theodore saying it actually.
EDIT: It seems I meant Simon. Meh. I should not post comments when still barely awake.

The response of Preppie's player:

Date: 2008-06-19 07:37 pm (UTC)Alas, while that loses us the elegance of "HALvin and the Chipped Monks", it can't be helped. That's so definitely a Simon line.
As is: "I'm afraid I can't do that, Dave."
Incidentally, I quite enjoyed the movie when I saw it on DVD recently.
(Oh, and I don't know if you were reading my LJ last year when I posted my pre-release commentary about the movie, so have a link.)
