SQUICK SQUICK SQUICK

Slowly but surely, I've been working my way through the local public library's collection of Batman trade paperbacks.
Today, I was reading one (War Crimes, for the curious), and noticed consistent printing glitches. This being a 21st-century Batman tale, the art is dark -- deep black shadows, swirling black capes, great swaths of black ink sweeping across the page. And on almost every page, the black had little specks of white, or off-white.
Then I noticed that they weren't printing glitches. I could flick them off, or wipe them away.
And then I realized that I just might be looking at page after page of someone's dandruff.
I'm going to go shower now.
