I downloaded the newest ICQ client, entered the new email address, got the confirmation letter, clicked on the link, got told that yes, I can sign in with my email, and it STILL REFUSES TO SEND A NEW PASSWORD TO THAT SHINY NEW ADDRESS.

Date: 2007-11-30 11:29 pm (UTC)A few years ago, as ICQ numbers were getting up into the nine-digit range, I signed in one day to find my ICQ account had mysteriously vanished. No explanation was ever given. Although I continued to use the service for another year or so, it somehow didn't seem as cool to have that new, longer number. I eventually left ICQ behind completely as AIM and Y!M improved their services, and haven't looked back.
