"I just don't think that what the customers want is cheap [prices]."?? Is that idiot Scalia high? The only people whose first concern isn't cheap prices are rich pricks like him who have more money than they could ever possibly spend.
Fucking hell. Like we as consumers aren't already getting fucked by retailer deals and bundling.
Well, Scalia is also the one who stated that the fourth amendment (and Miranda law) aren't needed because of the new scale of professionalism in the police force that wasn't there before....
I think Mr. Scalia is in a different world than the rest of us...
Scalia said he doubted consumers would pay more for unwanted services. "Is the real argument against this that there's some stupid consumers who can be conned? Whatever rule we adopt, that's going to be the situation," he said.
What a deliberate ass! No, you frickin' favor-taking, jackbooted asswipe parody of jurisprudence. The concern here is that the con will be leveled UNIFORMLY against the American People. The concern is that not just the "stupid" consumers, but ALL consumers will be paying for services they don't want because MANUFACTURERS WILL LEAVE THEM NO CHOICE!
But of course, what's good for Cheney's portfolio is good for Scalia's golf game, so to hell with justice, to hell with the consumer, and to hell with the American people - we only exist so the likes of them can get rich by rigging all kinds of con-games, declaring that taxes are for the little people and that the real function of Government is to cheat or tax the hell out of the "Little People" so the rich can stay that way.
This is the thing I hate about conservatives, they take from you every option, every choice, every opportunity and then call you "Stupid" because you haven't figured out how to get rich through theft and murder without being punished for it, the way they have. Because you don't have their sociopathic will to grind anyone beneath to a pulp. Because the basic virtues of justice and mercy are viewed by them as weaknesses, fine to be preached to the masses as virtues to keep the masses weak, but to be hated and avoided in themselves.
And Bush has finally managed to stack the court with his lot.
