If you oppose torture, disregard for international law, unlawful imprisonment without charge or representation,  and pillaging the public coffers of our own nation, then, please:

VOTE.

If you support these things, or support those responsible, don't bother. They'll vote for you.

I voted. I don't know-- do you think less of me, that the Republicans have screwed things up so badly that I've finally shed my Nixon Youth roots completely? I voted hell-with-em and didn't even have the slightest qualm this time.

Sometimes things become so obvious that only a person stupid as George W. Bush can't see them.

A Republic today. Perhaps a Democracy, tomorrow.

Less of you? Not at all. Really, they've pulled the rug out from under you, yanking it so far to the "right" that even Mr. Nixon's positions, in this day and age, would be considered "left". And I don't mean "moderate" or "centrist".

I put "right" and "left" in quotes, by the way, because the people currently in power don't really fall on that spectrum at all. They're in Crazy Cuckoo Land.
