Third Way Liberal

You scored 74% Personal Liberty and 30% Economic Liberty!

A third way liberal believes in little to moderate government intervention on personal matters and moderate to high government intervention on economic matters. They tend to be opposed to war, police powers, victimless crimes, and what they may consider to be a corporate state or rogue capitalism. They generally support personal liberty and believes in a social safety net or welfare state. They support self-ownership and privacy. Third way liberals are essentially the "mainstream" left and left of center.

I tried taking it but . . . broke down because too many questions didn't make sense to me as written. In particular:

#42 was "Majority rule should always take precedence in government". I have started to try to imagine post-democratic governments existing via consensus rather than majority rule. I honestly could not answer this question in a meaningful way.

#7 was "America should trade freely in the global economy". Er, what does that mean? "Trade freely"? How does one "freely trade" necessities, in particular? How does one "freely trade" food, water, medicine, etc. The question makes no sense. The essence of trade is buying cheap and selling dear -- the essence of trade is inequality.

Those are the two questions that I could not answer. A lot of the other questions verge on meaninglessness for me when trying to judge my actual politics rather than where I fit on the normal political spectrum. I mean, one of the questions ask if it would be a good thing to abolish money but then goes on to ask things like whether I'd support salary caps -- no, I don't support salary caps. I support abolishing money. So, for people who are truly radical the test is internally inconsistent, as well.

See that corner way up in the tippy-top of the chart? Yeah, I'm about five inches above that corner.

From where I sit, pretty much everyone else in the world is either a commie or a fascist. :p
