I would like to see us be more co-operative with the world as a whole and less 'world police', but it's sad that it's happening because of a monkey breaking Uncle Sam's kneecaps with a bat.

I don't think many would have the problem with the US being the "world police". The thing to remember in that statementis that the police serve the court, are answerable to the same laws they protect, and theoretically apply enforcement of laws equally.

Welcome to the Brave New World ! Just you listen to the screams of moral outrage of "Barbarians" and "Inhuman Monsters" that will erupt from the Govt when (and I do mean *when*) US military troops (or civilians) fall into the hands of the opposition, and they recieve the SAME treatment that the US itself is proposing :(

What is the Govt. *THINKING* ?..do they ever consider the effects of what their actions will produce in the long run? The US is RAPIDLY running out of friends and allies, even the mot syncopantic States will start considering where their best interests lie. As much as I like many of you folks in the US of A, I think your Govt is intent of crushing every international agreement that helps bind Nations together. Tear up those agreements and treaties, and the World will fragment into petty squables that will make the 20th Centuary seem like the Golden Age of Peace and Prosperity.
