Call your congresscritters: the music industry is trying to sneak in a change to copyright law to require seperate licenses for any copy of digital music, even "incidental" copies in RAM and browser caches and so on.

As usual, BoingBoing has the details, including the links to contact information.

This went too far years ago. Don't let it go any farther.

Addendum: Meanwhile, across the pond, a Parlimentary report explains why DRM is Bad Juju.

You know, there is NO WAY this could tecnically work without breaking mp3 players and whatnot.

About the only thing you could do it so back to phonographs and those rollers with little bumps on them.

I think it's about time for a group of 635 normal everyday people to show up in the congressional buildings and just say, "Ok, you're done. We're taking over now."
