It slowly deveolped over, oh, the last hour or two.

I don't often get toothaches; when I do, they've never been due to cavities or any actual dental phenomenon. They've always been sinus-related.

I happen to have a doctor's check-up tomorrow morning; if it still hurts, I'll be sure to let him know and see what he thinks.

This assumes I can actually get to sleep -- all those cartoon-sitcom cliches about Toothaches Driving You crazy have their roots in reality. This is one of the most UNIGNORABLE pains I've ever experienced.

If it's actually tooth-related, Orajel can be your friend. Never had to use it for anything that wasn't genuinely dental though, so I dunno what effect, if any, it would have.

If the Orajel doesn't help, aspirin might offer another alternative. It works wonders for my toothaches (I am the sad owner of an abscessed molar), while acetaminophen works to a lesser degree. Naproxen sodium and ibuprofen do hardly any good at all.

Good luck with the toothache, Athelind. They really do shout for attention, especially when they're located at the corners of the upper jaw... almost as though they've got a direct line to Pain Central. :(
