Comic book artist and animation designer.
Creator of Space Ghost, The Herculoids, and many, many others.
Defined the look of Action-Adventure Animation in the 1960s and 1970s.
Passed away while working at his drawing table.

Yes, but... he died AT HIS DRAWING TABLE.

Died doing what he lurved, no better way to go.

Dangit, just old enough to see all the cool people pass away, so sad. At least Space Ghost will live on in this generation.. as a talk show host.

Y'know, I have a friend who worked on the most recent version of Jonny Quest at H-B, before the big merger with Warner. The project he really wanted to there was a revival of Space Ghost and the Herculoids -- as serious characters. The "funny" Space Ghost really rankled him.

Alas, with the WB merger, anything action-adventure that wasn't Bruce Timm/Paul Dini/DC Comics fell by the wayside.

Pity. He had some terrific ideas for both sets of characters.
