We have several wire cube assemblies like this around the house:

Today, I discovered that the fastest way to dismantle them for moving is to... um...

...drop them down a flight of stairs.

The first was an accident. The second... well, you know.
15-20 minutes of yanking and pulling and getting sore wire-creases in your arthritic hands...
or just stand back and tip?
What would you do?

when my kids were younger I had a set of these in my back hallway next to the laundry and back door - everyone had a designated cubby, and clean washing was sorted into those for retrieval - at least it meant my sons didn't drop their clean washing onto the floor in the middle of the dirty washing so that I couldn't tell them apart and had to wash things all over again.

however, they had a bit of a problem in that they fell apart too easily if they were full. so one day I got out a tube of an adhesive known as "liquid nails" and glued the whole damn lot together at the joints.

when some of the kids moved out and I decided I didn't need the cubes any more, wild _elephants_ couldn't have pulled them apart. I ended up sticking them on the hard rubbish collection pile on the nature strip more or less in one piece. from whence they disappeared, presumably into a neighbour's house to perform a similar duty for them.

so, just be glad you never glued them together, or even throwing them down the stairs wouldn't help. ;-)

I've got cube stacks here, but mine are crates. They don't collapse but for moving you don't have to unload them. :)

I prefer pine cubes myself. Cones are nice but don't stack....
