Reuters on the Razzie Awards:

Berry was named worst actress of 2004 by the Golden Raspberry Award Foundation for her performance in "Catwoman" and she showed up to accept her "Razzie" carrying the Oscar she won in 2002 for "Monster's Ball."

"They can't take this away from me, it's got my name on it!" she quipped. A raucous crowd cheered her on as she gave a stirring recreation of her Academy Award acceptance speech, including tears.

She thanked everyone involved in "Catwoman," a film she said took her from the top of her profession to the bottom.

"I want to thank Warner Brothers for casting me in this piece of shit," she said as she dragged her agent on stage and warned him "next time read the script first."

It is rare for a Razzie winner to show up at the spoof awards held on the night before Oscars -- but Berry did, saying her mother taught her that to be "a good winner you had to be a good loser first." She received a standing ovation.

So, what's the word on the sequel?

Wow, that's actually pretty darn classy of her. I think she's earned my forgiveness as well, which is easy enough to give: I never saw Catwoman. >.>

Neither did I, but even the previews scarred me.

I must admit, Berry showed far more class than I gave her credit for. It takes serious stones to accept a Razzie in person, and the ability to laugh at yourself is a rare and wonderful thing.

the price Catwoman goes for on DVD against it's contemporaries says it all...
but kudos to a damned attractive lady for being a good sport!

I seem to recall that it's a certain dragon's hatchday today... *hugs* :)

Ah, the advantage of cyberhugs, I can't give you the plague. ;)

*checks*

Hey now! Methinks that someone thinks that he was getting away with something!

...

I was about to offer birthday greetings from a birthday fox, but the phrase 'birthday fox' suddenly conjured forth mental images of me with a big candle between my ears, and copious use of whipped cream and frosting.

...

Okay, I was about to add, "Use your imagination" to that last part, but then I realized that I maybe didn't want to say that, either. As it is, my hole is nice and comfy.

We could all learn a thing or two from that. Go Halle.

That is pretty cool about Halle Berry; but then, I've always found her to be one of the better actresses, through both the ups and downs in her career.

And happy birthday, now and for many years to come. }:=*)

Well, I never saw Catwoman either, but... Yeah, man, that takes some cojones and class... She's earned several esteem points in my book. ^.^

Hey, she DID get paid for the Catwoman gig, even if it was a laughingstock movie.

Nontheless, she really showed some real class and a great sense of humor by showing up for her Razzie. And she can always brag: how many actresses have both a Razzie and and Oscar on the same mantlepiece? :>

I'm going to have to see the next movie she's in, even if it's a total bomb. Hopefully, it won't be!

I still have little to no respect for Berry, anymore. I never saw Monster's Ball, true, but I never saw Catwoman, either. All I know is that she's pretty much dumped X-Men for 'not being in it enough', is getting a series of her own with 'Jinx'...why? Because she looks nice naked, it appears. Gothika and Project Swordfish got her naked; in fact, the only reason she was in Swordfish was for her breasts. And even Catwoman and Die Another Day had her half-nude. So, yes...her record is officially and permanently marred by such things, in my book.

Oh HELL yes!! *applauds* She actually DOES have a working mind after all. O_O; Now let's see her take that comment seriously while accepting some REAL serious flicks this time, hm?
