Technology is totally bad ass.

I've thought about something like this for Full Thrust. Only diff is I'd consider permanently mounting it in a table and projecting the images *up* into a rigid translucent screen. Naturally, anything so projected would have to be flipped about. Now if only I had $1200 laying around for a spare DLP projector...

The overhead mount allows for a bigger picture, if you've got a good-sized ceiling.

Perhaps- though I was thinking of a table mounted higher than normal to facilitate gaming while standing (best for a game like FT anyway)- say 48"-50" above the floor. With most ceilings, that'd make the difference between the two approaches relatively minor. If seating is required, I suppose barstools could be provided. I've also thought about using a mirror under the table to get a longer effective distance to the screen, though would probably require a projector with trapezoid adjustment- I've seen some that can compensate for tremendous off-perpendicular angles to the screen. Yet more flipping of the image being projected may also be required if a mirror is used. My main reason for wanting to do things that way would be to have a discrete unit that's easier to manhandle as a single piece (an overhead projector arm attached to a table might have to be removed to wheel the thing through doorways...). And to get the coolness factor of a unit whose mode of operation is concealed. It's just a magic picture table. }:>

Actually, I've debated one of these for quite a while.

I've always thought, that if I were to ever open a gaming store or some such (not that that'd really ever happen) I'd set something like that up }:->
