Okay, I've been quiet for most of a week, but...

CIA plans to purge its agency
Sources say White House has ordered new chief to eliminate officers who were disloyal to Bush

Excerpt: "The CIA is looked on by the White House as a hotbed of liberals and people who have been obstructing the president's agenda."
(Thanx [livejournal.com profile] cargoweasel)

The CIA... the Central Intelligence Agency... the front line of the Cold War... is a hotbed... of liberals.

I guess these days "liberal" means "anyone vaguely sympathetic to the 'reality-based community'".

He's totally pissing off the wrong people. I'm geussing that House and Senate republicans will, in two or three years, find themselves in a place where they have to impeach this schmuck to maintain credibility with their constituents.

Maybe, except he's One Of Them. If you're a person who believes that the end justifies the means and that ideology is more important than actions, then you'll overlook some or all of these things. I mean, the Halliburton no-bid contract thing should have warranted an investigation by Congress... The FBI is looking into it but who knows when/if anything will come of it. Meanwhile, Clinton- who is Not One Of Them- is impeached over lying about sex. You tell me which is the worse offense... And why the one got a lot more attention than the other seems to be getting...

I do believe you've just coined the name of a new political movement.

*grin* I was going to suggest that I was coining the term, but it ocurred to me to google to see if the term existed before... It seems that it did. I did come up with it on my own though, so... I'll hope to share credit someday maybe. It seems to have even been applied to politics (by a rightist who insists that realitarians are the ones who don't buy into anything the leftists are saying) so I guess I don't get my footnote to history through new use of the term either. }:> But I still thought it sounded cool. }:D

This is all just a slow burning flame, waiting to explode into Civil War II. Just watch. I give it less than twenty years till it happens.

I think "liberal" actually means, these days, "not a followers of the sacred shrub". Or perhaps "not a member of the Righteous Religious Right (RRR)">

Make that the "American Righteous Religious Right": "ARRR!"

Not so sure on that....is there that much of a difference between our "Radical Religious Right" (I've been advised that RRR has already been taken for that) and the ones in, say, the Middle East?
