The other day, I got fed up with trying to express myself in 140 characters, and updated the LiveJournal app on my cellphone.

I've been catching up on my friends list. Despite regular assertions that LJ is dead, it seems pretty active to me - and a lot more cogent than Twitter.

I am going to make a concerted effort to get back to posting regularly. I've missed you guys!

I do admit that the LJ-format suits me way better for most things. Twitter posts are too ethereal for me... here and gone and almost instantly forgotten.

But then, I do have a mind like a sieve, too.

I've tried Tumblr, but the braided threads of post and repost are difficult to follow, and impossible to parse into any sense of real CONVERSATION.

I gave Tumblr a try, early on, and it really didn't mesh well with me. It just didn't seem to be based around any sense of community, somehow, plus those tiresomely lengthy lists of everyone who's reposted/agreed/etc - which seemed to be about the sum of Tumblr comments.

Here, yes - I'm very fond of the ease with which multiple threads of conversation can proceed, plus individual icons for each, per the moment. ^_^ (Ah, reminds me, I must update my payment info - just received LJ's advance notice of payment coming due next week. Since last time, I've had new numbers on both the credit and debit cards)

And there's another reason for me to stick with LJ -- a few years ago, I shelled out for a Lifetime Membership!

Hee! Oh, cool going. =:D I always wanted to go for one of those, but they never cropped up at the right time - only when I was particularly short of funds.

Which probably presages their availability again in the next few weeks. =:/

(I wonder how long it's been since they were offered? I can't say recall them being available in the last four years or so)

I've certainly not experienced any drop-off in comments on my journal, and if I miss a couple days, I'm left spending hours trying to catch up with everything.

And so, here I am, faced with trying to catch up with an entire fortnight.. *sigh* Not out of choice, FSM knows. But, I am a bunny of some fortitude, and I have plenty of fine cider and beer to fuel the day's endeavors. ^_^
