Understanding Athelind's Argot: MEGO
Jun. 4th, 2004 11:31 pm(I can't believe it took me this long to list this one...)
MEGO: My Eyes Glaze Over. Invoked whenever a topic of conversation is so far out of one's area of interest that one simply cannot follow it, even if one makes an effort to be polite and engaged. More generally invoked when one does not actually wish to make such an effort.
Not to be confused with the 1970's toy company.
For me, discussions of video/computer games, organized sports and such television shows as Survivor generally induce a MEGO reaction. Believe me, I am well aware that some of my own interests have the same effect on others. For instance, have I mentioned how annoyed I am that Hal Jordan is returning to the role of Green Lantern?
