They don't mention caffeine, though.

I would argue religion is the opiate that is the most dangerous. ;)

I have to heavily moderate my caffeine intake; have had problems in the past - it throws me into violent mood swings. Not fun.

You and me both. More emphasis on the "violent" than the "swing".

It doesn't do my stomach any good, either.

I wonder if anyone's done a study comparing caffeine levels in the blood and violent crime? Did anyone else ever notice that "Road Rage" and "Starbuck's" became household words right around the same time?

When I started work this morning having had a 20 min walk along a canal towpath wearing only a fleece..and having faced down a GWA (goose with attitude, whoh!)... I wanted to KILL.
I've had about 6 cups of Nescafé since then and I'm mellow...
Course I gotta walk back to the Met. station to get home ....
but I don't think it's raining at the moment.
CAFFEINE GOOD. The Starbucks phenomenon is simply a variant of "Ghod did I pay that much for this crud" syndrome.

BTW my cups have a one pint (imperial) capacity.
No espresso thimbles here.
