When I told them I didn't know more than the basics of AutoCAD or Illustrator, the response was, "are you willing to learn more?"
OH HELL YES I AM.
It looks like knowing esoteric stuff like hyperspectral image analysis may trump a lack of familiarity with more common stuff.
I should hear from them by the end of the week.

Date: 2008-07-17 03:33 pm (UTC)I'm glad I rewrote my resume to emphasize it. It's almost as esoteric as my multi-beam sonar/seafloor mapping experience.
It all makes sense when I think about it -- classes to teach people stuff like AutoCAD are readily available at community colleges and such. Someone lacks that, you can always just plug them into a local night class.
Remote sensing? That's SPECIALIZED.
