It's a clock. Done in Flash. And it's about a minute slow.

People keep linking to it without comment.

Obviously, it's for some video game or another, but there's no indication as to WHAT. It's a friggin' slow Flash clock.

EDIT: I feel better now. My hard-core video-game-geek son-in-law who's well-versed in All Things JRPG didn't recognize it, either.

"CT would have been my first guess if there were a pendulum attached to the clock, like in the opening of the original game."

1) It appears to pull from the system time (on every computer I've looked at it on, and changing the system time changes the clock) so if it's slow, I'd check your computer's time. ;)

2) The art style (the thicker area around the left half of the clock that's shaped like a C) and the audio (as well as the URL itself) are clues that this is for Chrono Trigger, one of the most beloved SNES games of all space and time.

Combine that with the 'DS' in the url (/CTDS) and the Nintendo DS logo, and us fanboys are kinda going a little obscessive about it right now. We apologize (Or at least, I do.) :)

It's Chrono Trigger remake for the Nintendo DS. No big surprise.

Yeah, I know (And just saw the "confirmed" post on Kotaku too, so now it's officially official, as if that website could have been anything else.) Just explaining it to Athe since he seemed kinda out of the loop on the whole thing. ;)

Oh, I was comparing the time it showed to the time on the system clock. That's why I said "a minute slow".

Odd... both computers I've looked at it on (mac laptop and windows desktop at work) it matches the clock exactly, to the second.. And setting my clock to some wildly different time, the web page changes to match.

Maybe your computer is actually mysteriously operating one minute in the future?

Or more likely, it takes a full minute for the tubes and relays to process Flash.

Ooo, Chrono Trigger. :3 At least I figure that's what they'd do before Chrono Cross. Both very entertaining games. I wonder if they're actually sprucing up the graphics?

I was reading this comment thread when suddenly the graphic design muse struck!

Icon that says that line

My sister had a coffee mug with Mr. Normal-- you remember Mr. Normal, don't you? From the 50s? Guy with close-cropped hair, a little gray at the temples, big friendly smile, nice business suit (or maybe a tweed sports jacket), and a pipe? Showed up on hygiene posters and the like? Anyway, she had a coffee mug with Mr. Normal smiling, pointing the stem of his pipe at you, and saying "I'm Out Of The Loop and That's the Way I Like It."

I always wanted one of those.
