2008 Presidential Candidate Matching Quiz

Interesting... I actually haven't heard of Gravel before. I'll have to look into his positions and record.

In the morning. It's frakkin' half past midnight!

Neither had I, yet apparently he's my top pick. I had, before now, thought I'd preferred Richardson. Actually, as compared to Edwards, the top of the 'well known' candidates in this quiz's output, I do actually prefer Richardson slightly- but it's mostly due to subtleties of platform that fall below this quiz's radar.

I wound up with Gravel too, to my surprise. Unfortunately, there's not much I can do to get him the front run. I need to register as a Democrat first anyhow.

Hrm... funky. Although I suppose it makes sense. Top three were of course Obama, Edwards, and Hilary (only 85% with the top one though) apparently very middle of the road seeing as I didn't mess with the 'how much do I care about these issues' bubbles.

Gravel's pretty interesting. Kinda like the Dem equivalent of Ron Paul. :P And makes a lot more sense looked at that way, actually.

Gravel's a "shitkicker" gadfly; I did hear him in one of the early debates. He's a crusty old bastard; I'm really not sure why he was running, since Dennis Kucinich already had the "peacenik" gadfly spot filled. Trouble is, what little of his real platform got out didn't seem that different from Edwards or Obama (at the time). It's too bad he didn't get more traction, but his redundancy and utter lack of name recognition killed him.

Say what you will about the Democratic candidates -- they're a pretty flawed bunch if liberal activism is your bag -- but they tower over the moral pygmies on the other side of the aisle like the Rockies tower over the Wisconsin foothills. Last night's debate showed that in spades

Still, the American public shows a disturbing tendency to enjoy electing moral pygmies (See: Chimperor) so I take nothing for granted.

Gravel also did the famous (infamous?) "throwing a rock out into the water" video.

I should note, I'm not making fun of him for that, I think it's awesome. Though all those polls put me slightly more into the Kusinich camp, I'd gladly vote for someone who has the balls to do something that isn't the ordinary, polished spin of their campaigns.

I got Gravel too. I also had never heard of him. Cynical SOB that I am, I began to wonder if this quiz was written by a Gravel supporter, so you get him no matter what. So I went in again and reversed all my answers. I got Fred Thompson that time.
