We have a brand-new comforter that we'd like to launder before putting on the bed. Alas, it's too massive to fit in our washing machine.

The laundromat around the corner is a creepy, nasty little skank-hole. While it has oversized machines, they in a state of repair that makes me suspect that what comes out might be in worse condition than what went in.

Does anyone here in the Santa Clara area know of a laundromat that ISN'T a creepy, nasty little skank-hole? Please enlighten us!

I've run into that problem before, with large comfy blankets and too small of a washer. I wound up having to hand-wash the thing in the bathtub. ^^ It actually worked out rather well. You can use the shower for rinsing too. :D Then just pile some towels on the ground, and hang the whole thing up over your shower curtain rods. Just make sure to wring it out a tad first, so it isn't too heavy with water.
