Selling "haunted" objects on eBay is nothing new. Refer to "The Dark Side of Ebay." (Does that lj comm exist anymore? I'm uncertain of its exact title.) I've seen people selling haunted paintings that curse their owners and sometimes move; a haunted cupboard that both a ghost and a dybbuk living in it that make nasty effects around the house and make the doors swing open at every midnight; a dirty glass jar, sealed with wax, that has a ghost trapped inside... and some other things, that's just the tip of the iceberg. Mostly people buy them because they like the story, I think, so it wouldn't surprise me if sellers just concoct the story for that sake, to jack up the price. (I also wouldn't be surprised if a lot of sellers genuinely think the object is haunted and want it out of the house.) It's a bit like how things used to be sold in a bazaar or something, where the merchant can tell you all about the history of an item, even if a major portion of the history is false to make you want it more for the story.
The guy writes a good story. What gives it away for me is the whole camera-to-stills issue somewhere near the end. *shrug* His biggest flaw is letting it go on for too long.
Oh, I think he was kinda devious when Lilo first adopted him... Besides, one of those myriad updates the seller posted had the house getting trashed, allegedly by this DemonStitch:

UPDATE 2 updates this time.
Update 1 - We got home from our stay with my parents, to a completely trashed house. Clothes, food, and garbage were strewn all over the floor. The entire house was a complete mess, except for our guest room upstairs. When we looked in it, we saw absolutely nothing wrong. It appears that the Stitch didn't even enter the room. It makes me wonder if it didn't have time, or if there is something in there that keeps it away...
When I went downstairs to check on the toy, the lock on the door was broken, but the Stitch was still in the safe. There's nothing else I can think of to do until we get rid of it.
Update 2 - I have posted all of the pics taken so far to an Imageshack page. Check back soon for the link.
