Just a few days after mentioning it in re: The Incredibles, the first trailer for next year's big-budget Fantastic Four is now online.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed, but... honestly... I'm not seeing anything that looks that much better than the Corman version....

I read this big bash of Incredibles in Newsweek I think. Was "family hostile."

I guess it didn't mesh with established Reich doctrine of what a movie is supposed to be. Because, after all, cartoons are for kids, and no adults watch them.

Hey, coming up this Thursday! Let's have dinner this weekend!

Is it a bad sign that in this trailer, they're using the space shuttles from 'Armageddon' in the secret origin sequence? :P

"Family hostile?" What, did they watch The Shining by mistake and THINK it was The Incredibles or something? 0.o

Actually, the bad sign was that they described it as "the next great superhero franchise." Why didn't they just have the announcer say "cha-ching, cha-ching" while they were at it?

Yes, they've got Green Lantern in the pipeline.

As a comedy.

Like The Mask.

Starring Jack Black as Kyle "Green Lantern" Rayner.

Google it youerself -- it hurts too much for me.

What the HELL, Warner? Are you INCAPABLE of taking your properties seriously? Why are your cartoons more mature and sophisticated than your live-action adaptations? Yes, Marvel's finally, FINALLY making it big with their movie rights -- but are you paying attention to HOW they're doing it?

Gaaaah, you got me started. Breathe, Athe, breeeeaaaaathe...

As far as I can tell, Jack Black has said he's only been spoken to on the Green Lantern project, as a...possibility. He's had no real interest in playing Kyle Rayner. But I get my info at movies.yahoo.com, so I might be off.
