So, the Exploratorium is Moving.

That's good news for them, and I'm happy that they're getting a new site better-suited for them -- but I wonder what the City has planned for the Palace of Fine Arts? I love that place, and the only thing that's kept it from falling down (more than it has) for the last three decades has been the money that the Exploratorium's poured into it.

Wow. This...makes me feel vaguely melancholy. I dunno why. I mean, it's great that they're finally upgrading their residence, but some part of me feels like it just won't quite be the same. I've been visiting the Exploratorium all my life; it was probably the definitive reason I developed a love of science as a child. It's just hard to imagine it anywhere other than that gorgeous site.

Ah, well. All good things. At least it'll be closer to the BART and Metreon and such. :)
