In Which Your Obedient Serpend SHUTS THE TWEET UP

I have disabled the Twitter Aggregate Post Function on LiveJournal.

It has done nothing but spam my archive and make it impossible for me to find any actual CONTENT I HAVE GENERATED MYSELF.

I don't use it to find old tweets, and frankly, I don't see that I ever will.

From now on, this is going ONE direction: Post to LiveJournal => Repost to Tumblr and Twitter. Likes and reblogs and retweets don't need to come back to LJ, and any original content I generate will originate on LJ -- because Tumblr is a terrible interface to find your OWN work.

If you go to your own tumblog instead of the dashboard or the posts screen, searching by tags brings up only your own entries with those tags.

You have my most heartfelt thanks. And I definitely look forward to seeing what you have to say.

And there was rejoicing upon the face of the land. ^_^ I suppose I can see some utility in reposting tweets into a separate account, for that purpose, but with Twitter now offering archive downloads, it'd seem easier just to keep that locally, where it can be imported into whatever application one desires, from a plain text editor, to some intricately fashioned database.

Reminds me, sometime I need to get around to aggregating my LJ keywords, having long ago reached LJ's 4000 tag limit. Still, general purpose search engines tend to do a good job of finding particular posts, so it's not something to fret over.

I sort of do appreciate it, oh grauphy one. I enjoyed seeing some of those twitter links, but too often, it was just a SPAM of them, every day.
