Ahhh, yes, I remember that. Simultaneously a check of SF literacy and a clever way to avoid being sued. I remember that I recognized Gully Foyle and John Carter, but didn't recognize Kimball Kinnison, since I didn't get a chance to read the Lensman Saga until after it came out.
