I've never heard of any o' the modern cards having this problem. My current card handles dual monitor just fine, with either VGA or DVI. I'd suggest getting yourself one of the new Radeon lines. :) I'm using a Saphire X1600 pro. Inexpensive, yet nice and powerful 512 meg graphics.
