I can't be too down on them, since my highschool roleplaying days were full of their things and I have some really great memories from playing their games. I am a little bitter over the fact that my scientist character was 90-bajillion times less useful than everyone's cyborg or juicer or rifts-conversion-book superhero because the GM ignored the fact that this world of magic and super science had stuff in it for a scientist to mess with.
