I gave Tumblr a try, early on, and it really didn't mesh well with me. It just didn't seem to be based around any sense of community, somehow, plus those tiresomely lengthy lists of everyone who's reposted/agreed/etc - which seemed to be about the sum of Tumblr comments.
Here, yes - I'm very fond of the ease with which multiple threads of conversation can proceed, plus individual icons for each, per the moment. ^_^ (Ah, reminds me, I must update my payment info - just received LJ's advance notice of payment coming due next week. Since last time, I've had new numbers on both the credit and debit cards)
